Hi! I’m Izzy — creator of Izzy Eats, a Colorado Springs native, and someone who’s almost always thinking about what’s for dinner.

My love for food runs deep — like, “planning-the-family-vacation-around-lunch” deep. My mom — effortlessly brilliant in the kitchen — was my first teacher. I inherited my love of cooking and eating (and butter) from her.

My kitchen is my happy place, but I’m just as obsessed with eating out, trying new restaurants, and chasing the best bite in town. I’ll try anything once — or twice — and I know all the best spots Colorado Springs has to offer.

I earned my journalism degree from the University of Missouri (Miz!) and got my first real taste of food writing during a school internship in Spain. I spent a semester immersed in tapas culture, visiting vineyards, and writing about the kind of meals that linger in your memory. It was there that it clicked — I didn’t just enjoy food, I wanted to make it the heart of what I do. That experience shaped everything that’s come since.

These days, I’m exploring the stories, flavors, and makers behind Colorado Springs’ evolving food culture — and giving you a front-row seat to the best bites in town. Izzy Eats is my little corner of the internet where I get to  bring you honest reviews, local recs, and even wine tips (because yes, I’m also studying to become a certified sommelier!)

Whether you're a local foodie, a home cook, or someone just looking for your next favorite bite, I’m so glad you’re here!
